Clinique and Global Colour Artist Jenna Menard Team Up With Karen Walker. The Karen Walker Spring 2012 Collection presents The American Girl. The makeup truly encapsulates the evolution of the collection which moves from sophisticated elegance to playful and flirty.  This season focuses on deliberate dewiness on flawless skin.  The eyelids have a transparent cream shine set off with subtle definition around the top lash line. Mascara naturally defines the top lashes and creates a more prominent bottom lash.  The cheeks and lips are the most prominent features with a peach cream blush on the apples of the cheeks and a bold, coral lip that’s vibrant and youthful.

Jenna Menard, Clinique Global Colour Artist explains how to get-the-look:

Skin: NEW Clinique Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Treatment launching January 2012 – used to prep the skin to create a fresh and luminous complexion.

Face: Clinique Even Better Makeup SPF 15 and Clinique All About Eyes Concealer – place foundation and concealer only where needed to even out skin tone. Keeping the base as sheer as possible is extremely important to allow the skin to shine through.

Cheeks: Clinique Blushwear Cream Stick in Peachy Blush – concentrate the colour on the apples of the cheeks and softly feather outward. Try smiling and placing the colour on the part of the cheek that sticks out the most. The cheek is the only other colour on the face besides the lips so it should complement the lip not compete with it. Clinique Up-lighting Liquid Illuminator in Natural – apply to the high cheek bone area up through the temple and on the bridge of the nose.  Blot lightly on the apples of the cheeks to give a healthy, radiant glow.

Eyes: NEW Clinique Lid Smoothie Antioxidant 8-Hour Eye Colour in Bit O’Honey or Cashew Later – using a warm neutral shade close to the natural skin tone, apply to the inner corner of the lid blending upward toward the brow to give a radiant glow.  Finish by applying a small amount along the bottom lash line. Clinique Quickliner for Eyes in Smoky Brown – apply close to the upper lash line to provide soft definition around the eyes. Clinique High Lengths Mascara in Black/Brown – apply one coat to upper lashes to provide natural definition. Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara in Black/Brown – apply to bottom lashes to create an innocent and youthful look.

Lips: A powerful lip was the focal point of the look. A bold coral was specifically chosen as it was a colour that wasn’t already represented in the Karen Walker Spring 2012 Collection and wasn’t as expected as a true red lip. Inspired by the makeup for the Karen Walker show, Clinique will introduce a NEW limited edition vibrant, coral lipstick shade that will launch in spring 2012.
