It’s always a bit embarrassing having to write about yourself. But here goes. Mix It Up started nearly, exactly eight years ago. Back then there were no blogs and only 2 other NZ fashion websites. I really had no idea what I was doing when developing and marketing a website – I learnt everything along the way. I built the site and took it to retailers and labels wanting them to be part of it – my simple plan at the start was to have an online magazine that was full of stuff I was into and liked and (hopefully) offering decent advice how to dress and look after your skin on a budget.

Mix It Up has changed a bit since 2004, I still stick by my original ethos of only featuring things I love, but I now cover everything from cool little bits and bobs you can pick up Farmers – to look books from NZ designers – to new, exciting designers emerging in London.

The brand new incarnation of Mix It Up takes it one step further and will use no contributors, making it really personal and about my personal views on collections, beauty and skincare products and a music section that never (well, hardly ever) slag off artists, but reviews albums that are new & exciting and that I love. I’ve never really seen the point of writing about things that I don’t like – so hopefully I will remain to stay positive (*dependant on mood*)
